Wine as a cultural commodity is not something new in the
history of Cyprus. On the contrary, it is a very old story,
one of the oldest stories in the world, a story revealed by
the recent excavations on the island by Italian
archaeologists whose pickaxe has revealed beyond doubt
the sensational truth that in this little corner of the earth the
production of wine dates back some 6000 years.
